PONA, AA renew MOA on oncology courses
Oncology courses for nurses to continue under renewed partnership
The mission for better education in the field of oncology nursing continues as the Philippine Oncology Nurses Association, Inc. (PONA) and B. Braun, through its continuing education arm, Aesculap Academy (AA), renewed their partnership with a memorandum of agreement signed on May 30, 2016 at the B. Braun office in Taguig City.
Under the MOA, PONA and AA agree to jointly organize basic and advanced chemotherapy skills workshops, aimed at increasing nurses’ competency level in the preparation, administration and storage of chemotherapeutic agents, as well as nursing management for patients undergoing chemotherapy. The course also imparts vital information on safe care for cancer patients on biotherapy agents and who are experiencing oncologic emergencies as a consequence of chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments.
Present during the contract signing were PONA President Edilaida Garcia, B. Braun Managing Director Lih Chyun Yeong, Aesculap Academy Manager Ma. Cecilia Victoria Cannon, and PONA Immediate Past President Cecilia Pena. PONA Officers Alyssa Jenny Tupaz and Martin Luigi Manuel served as witnesses.
